Re: the crossover rule, I'm wondering if a Geordi LaForge&Spock Prime story I wrote in the wake of last year's Star Trek film would count as a TNG fic, an AOS fic, a crossover, or something else. The characters are all TNG characters, but it's about events leading up to Spock Prime's exile to the AOS universe. I don't know, it confuses me. It doesn't feel like a crossover to me, except in the sense that Spock Prime canonically crosses over, but I don't know how you define crossover.

the purpose of the crossover rule is to protect someone who signed up for one fandom from being thrown a story which deals with characters and situations with which they are totally unfamiliar.

I think it's relatively safe to assume that anyone who signed up to write a TNG story would have some familiarity with Spock Prime. But, if you felt too much like you were playing a trick on someone by nominating that story, you can always nominate another story for remix.

I've got a question about the Melee period. Does "in a fandom not eligible for The Remix Duello" include Supernatural, or only those fandoms that are too small to be matched easily? (I'm hoping for the former, especially since there might be participants who'd like to have an SPN story remixed but who don't want to write in the fandom, which would prevent them from participating in Kamikaze Remix. But obviously whatever you decide is cool; I'd just like the info so that I can plan accordingly.)

Sorry it took me so long to get back to you on this. I've decided against including Supernatural. It's got too much potential to overwhelm the Melee, and I'd really like to keep that to many smaller fandoms instead of a few big fandoms.
